Reflection
I had a really good experience at my job shadow with learning about the different types of things that people can do once they have their degree. I think that the job shadow was much more helpful than simply looking up and researching the different types of engineering. I think that I was able to learn the most about all of the different types of colleges. Going on the job shadow was helpful, but it didn't fully explain what the daily life is like, but instead just a brief snapshot into a bunch of different jobs. I think it was important since I don't know what type of engineering I want to do. However, I think that seeing the different things such as what an electrical engineer does, or the variety of jobs that a mechanical engineering degree can get you. I met people who tested airbags everyday, and got to see where engineers were able to design new plans for different parts of the cars. That part was really cool because it helped me to understand that even if I get a certain specialization when I get my degree, I still have tons of options available to me in the job world. Regardless of whether or not I instantly know which specialization when I am actually in college, that won't matter as much after I get hired and have different opportunities to work in different areas. I still have the big questions about where I want to go to college and what type of engineering I want to do. My biggest learning experience was about myself.
